Most of education is focused on getting to June. We think summer is one of the most under-leveraged opportunities in special education. We want to do something about that.

"Our goal with this initiative is to ensure that the school year starts with clarity, not catch-up."
- Tandem Founders, Britt and Brendan
For students receiving Extended School Year services, summer isn’t a pause; it’s a continuation. For many special education teachers, it’s also the time of year with enough breathing room to step back from the paperwork and actually observe how students are doing.
That’s the opportunity we’re building toward: a living, dynamic view of student progress that doesn’t go dark when the school year ends.
Schools that spend this summer with Tandem will have educators who begin their back-to-school caseloads with a head start. They’ll have a lifetime's worth of insight starting from day one. They’ll start with clarity, not catch-up.
Here’s what your team gets during the pilot.
A unified view of every student. Services, notes, and progress indicators in one place. No chasing down providers for updates. Just a clear, current picture of where each student stands and what they need next.
Collaboration between meetings. Teachers, service providers, and administrators work from the same information in real time, even across buildings. The 360-degree view of each student builds itself as the team does the work.
Compliance without the scramble. Deadlines, service gaps, and missing documentation surface before they become problems, not after.
A head start on the school year. Context doesn’t disappear in August. Caseloads carry forward to the next year with everything the team built over the summer, so the first day of school isn’t a blank slate.
Spots are limited. This pilot is for an exclusive group of schools that want to help us build something that actually serves educators.
